I was born in Los Angeles TO BRITISH ex-pats. WE OSCILLATed between their HOMES IN MALIBU AND the hollywood hills. They were both creatives, and Their homes were inherently glamorous.
I GREW UP IN ENGLAND. WE LIVE in london & Oxford. i HAD A CLASSIC english EDUCATION, that WAS ROOTED IN etiquette AND ELEGANCE. IT instilled in me a code of CONDUCT AND SENSE OF AESTHETICS that i carry forward to this day.
my childhood homes were always historic, and certainly unique. THE MONASTIC GATEHOUSE attached to aN oxfordshire country manor’s. A 15th cottage, the former wheel workshop for the village, retrofit over time into a home. a victorian “QUEEN ANNE” house, who’s original occupants ran the mill on the nearby canal.
I learnt to admire the charm and character that are innate to homes of this pedigree. each home told a story, and infused me with a love of english interiors.
I returned to the san francisco bay area in 2006. i wanted to live in historic homes that were unique, and had a story to tell.
BUT I FOUND MANY HISTORIC BAY AREA HOMEs WERE IN disrepair, AND WEREn’t suitable to live in without some love and care.
this provided me with an opportunity to express my love of interiors and restoration.
OVER the last TWENTY YEARS OF LIVING IN CALIFORNIA, I HAVE renovated several HISTORIC HOMES, each with their own particular charm, and unqiue story.
my focus has been the way i live in these homes, and elevating the every day to be special and meaningful.
from the interior floorplans & elevations, to the color palette, furniture layout, fabric choices and even landscape design, i have used each project as a way to showcase my skill in these areas.
Each home has been transformed into a contemporary and special place to live.
By fusing my TRADITIONAL ENGLISH UPBRINING WITH WEST COAST AMERICANA, These old homes are given a new lease of life. They SHOWCASE THE people that live there, the way they live, and the BAY AREA’s HISTORIC ARCHITECTURE.
