Everywhere I went, I couldn’t find what I SOUGHT. I longed for A more romantic WAY OF LIVING, a sanctuary of intellect and sophistication.

Dinner at a castle in the Scottish highlands. A black-tie birthday party at a Tuscan villa. A springtime picnic by the river. A train ride across the Alps to Chamonix. A motorcycle adventure ON a 1969 TRIUMPH through New Mexico. SUMMER ON THE BEACH IN SANTA BARBRA, WITH OUR DOGS AND THE DEFENDER.

And I wanted to make all of these things feel authentic, TO TELL A COMPLETE STORY, with the PRODUCTS and TOOLS BESPOKE TO EACH EVENT.

I synthesized a way of life. There is no ephemera here. only the pursuit of iconic ideas from the past, dusted off and brought forward into a contemporary setting. The goal: To enrich the mind and soul AND give life meaning.

This meant elevating THe everyday AND crafting new traditions and ceremonies, to bring myself symbolic moments, even in the simplest of TASKS.

This vision of lost elegance evolved into Maison MacLean. Bygone traditions, fused with a storyteller’s vision, re-envisaged to inspire us to live properly in the modern age.
